About Us

BACKGROUND

Ariff Rozhan & Co (ARC) is a firm established in 2015 focusing primarily on dispute resolution, led by its principal partners, Ariff Rozhan, William Lim, and Christopher Arun.

ARC’s principal partners were all former partners in Malaysia’s largest law firm where Ariff was also a member of the Executive Committee and head of its Dispute Resolution and Arbitration practice.

Prior to joining the firm in April 2016, Ezine Chong was a partner in the Dispute Resolution practice of one of Malaysia’s largest and most established law firms.

EXPERIENCE

Partners and lawyers in ARC have all been involved in a plethora of cases for local and international clients, involving complex, novel, and dynamic issues of law. These cases showcase the width and breadth of their experience, as well as demonstrating the depth and strength of their expertise.

Many of these cases have been reported in Malaysia and International Law Reports. For example, our team members were amongst the first Malaysia lawyers exposed to unchartered “Securities Law” issues, the dispute in relation to “revocation of Offshore Trust Licenses and regulations”, conducting “Forensic Litigation Due Diligence exercises” for local and international clients, and conducting, as lead Counsel, cross-border disputes and international commercial arbitrations involving multiple jurisdictional issues.

ARC is also ranked and recommended by many legal publications such as the Legal 500 Asia Pacific (2017, 2018 and 2019), Asialaw Profiles (2017, 2018 and 2019), and Benchmark Litigation (2018 and 2019) as a Leading or, Highly Recommended Firm. In 2019, ARC won the Asian Legal Business Matrimonial and Family Law Firm of the Year Award (Malaysia).

ARC’s Managing Partner, Ariff, has also been recommended by peers, in Asialaw Profiles, as a “Top Litigation Expert” and was ranked as a Leading Litigation and Dispute Resolution practitioner in Malaysia by Asialaw Profiles (2016-2019), Chambers & Partners Asia Pacific (2019) and Benchmark Asia-Pacific (2019). In September 2017, Ariff won the award for “Disputes Star for Malaysia” at the Asialaw Asia Pacific Disputes Resolution Award in Hong Kong 2017. He was also named as one of Malaysia's top 100 Lawyers by the Asia Business Law Journal in 2019. Both Ezine and Ariff are also recipients of the International Client Choice Awards (2015, 2017, and 2018) for Malaysia.
